We have over many years developed an expertise in advising professional services firms where we have acted for (amongst others) solicitors, accountants, chartered surveyors, dentists, doctors, architects, opticians, vets, estate agents and independent financial advisors.
The directors of Goodyear Blackie Herrington have, at some point in their careers to date, been partners, salaried partners, and members of a limited liability partnership so they have first hand experience of what it means to be a partner/member in a professional firm and what issues can arise, particularly when a partner leaves the practice.
We are frequently instructed by individual partners who are either encountering difficulties within their firm or about to take up an offer of partnership or membership. They tell us they find us sympathetic and understanding whilst providing helpful and pragmatic advice.
We are flattered when we are approached by leading law or accountancy practices or their partners and asked to act on their behalf.
Our work regularly includes forming limited liability partnerships, preparing partnership and limited liability partnership members’ agreements, advice on disputes between partners and members, incorporation of partnership businesses, dealing with succession issues, disposal and acquisition of partnership businesses and general advice on the legal issues which arise when running a professional practice.
